Open Righs
I’m now an official supporter of the Open Rights Group. Do I believe EVERYTHING should have completely open rights?
No.
I believe in balance though, and I believe that the Digital Economy Bill is unbalanced. It seems to give large record labels and film companies a large hammer to swing around without actually thinking of the end user.
So, I signed up up.
Interestingly enough, it tries (and fails) to give photographers similar rights, but again I think that it is poorly balanced and badly thought out.
Take a look around at their website, and see if what they’re saying makes sense to you. If it does, watch their RSS feed or follow them on twitter. Maybe even donate.
If nothing else, just become aware of how your rights are changing and decide whether the government is doing a good job of managing them.
